Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept a variety of health insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, NC State Health Plan, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna, NC Medicaid, NC Managed Care plans Healthy Blue, Wellcare, Amerihealth Caritas, UHC Community Plan and Carolina Complete Health.

Where will services be provided?

We provide services to children in homes, daycares, and preschools across a large area including Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina, Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane, Hillsborough, Knightdale, Wake Forest, Wendell, Garner, Sanford, and Southern Pines. We also see patients in our Cary clinic, which is conveniently within 15 minutes from Rex Hospital, Morrisville, Downtown Cary Park, and RDU. We are able to provide bilingual speech and language therapy to Spanish speaking families across the community and in our clinic. Additionally, we are also able to see patients via telehealth.

Do I need a referral?

No, a referral is not necessary. Our administrative staff will reach out to your child's pediatrician to obtain a signed order.

How will I be billed for services?

We bill insurances weekly, and we send out invoices biweekly for patient amounts due once your insurance claim processes. For private pay clients, you will receive a copy of your invoice biweekly on Thursday, and we charge the credit card on file on Friday. We require that all families (except those with Medicaid) place a credit card on file, and we bill frequently so there are no delays resulting in bigger bills.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards. This includes HSA or FSA cards.

What ages do you work with?

We are a pediatric practice and accept all ages from birth through age 21.

How long will my child need therapy?

This is dependent on each child and family. We focus on a parent-centered approach, coaching families to use strategies during the time you are not in therapy to ensure more success. It also depends on the diagnosis and severity level. We work to ensure success with every client; however, it's difficult to predict an exact timeframe.

Can you work with my child if they get speech therapy at school?

Yes! Our individualized approach with one-on-one therapy typically differs from the school approach. You will be given strategies and techniques to carry over into the home, optimizing your child's progress.

My child doesn't qualify for EI/school-based services. Can you still work with them?

Yes! As long as they qualify after a full evaluation, and we deem that services are medically necessary, we can provide therapy. Because we are a private practice versus a school setting, we have more freedom to target skills that may not be deemed educational but are still critical to overall development and success.

Can I be present for my child's session?

Yes, and this is highly encouraged!

Do you offer free screenings?

Yes! Our therapists all offer free screenings. The screening typically lasts 5-10 minutes, and a determination is made if a full speech and language evaluation is warranted based on those results.
